The Portes du Soleil iPhone application makes you the master of our French-Swiss ski area…
On offer to all visitors from the International Association of the Portes du Soleil, this new application contains everything you could possibly need to know about our cross-border ski network:
an interactive piste map detailing slopes that are open,
skiers’ GPS location on the slopes in real time,
the weather forecast and snow conditions,
restaurants on the slopes,
webcams,
emergency numbers and other useful information.
You can also watch the best film clips about the ski area, browse the events diary, make full use of the augmented reality software to explore the Portes du Soleil mountains.
Weather forecasts, slope/ski lift opening and closing times are provided by the ski resorts within the Portes du Soleil.
Portes du Soleil Resorts are:
Abondance, Avoriaz, Champery, Chatel, La Chapelle dAbondance, Les Gets, Montriond, Morgins, Morzine, St Jean dAulps, Torgon and Val-dIlliez Les Crosets Champoussin.
GPS positioning is indicative only. Charges may vary depending on your mobile phone operator and location within the French-Swiss ski area.

Correct mais bug
A very interesting and inspiring application. Still lots to improve. Today the application doesnt count tracks very well (for the whole skiing day only 8 runs!??)-another tracker has counted 22 runs. In the statistic menu 2 (two) similar named seasons are shown (2015/2016),in one still zero points,while the other shows around 2000 points. In the ranking menu I have zero points and no place in the overall table,then in statistic menu there are much more points...
GPS ski map of Portes du Soleil area with loads of cool extras. The distance measurements are a touch suspect, but overall really great - and free! A must get if youre going the a resort in the area. Perhaps the next version could actually show the days itinerary once youre done?
this app creatively combines the necessary features of a map app with the possibilities afforded by modern smart phones. GPS map location, AR feature to identify surrounding mountains, access to live cameras and even GPS tracking of your on-mountain activities. a well designed and built app, and free to boot! a must have if youre headed for Portes du Soleil
